Study tips for students: how to study with friends online
Studying with other students works best when you have a plan. These tips work well in a NaweChart study room or a private group.
Pick one topic per session
Decide the topic before you start, for example “organic compounds” or “quadratic equations”. A single clear topic keeps the chat useful and stops it from drifting.
Ask clear questions
Say the subject, the topic and exactly what confuses you. A question such as “Why does the second step in this solution change the sign?” with a photo of the working gets better answers than “I don't understand maths”.
Teach each other
Explaining a topic in your own words is one of the best ways to learn it. Take turns: one student explains, the others correct and add examples.
Use polls and deadlines
Use a poll to choose a study time that suits everyone, and agree on a start and end time so the session stays focused.
Use calls for hard topics
Some topics are easier to explain by voice or video. Start a call, then post the key points as notes in the chat afterwards.
Keep notes together
Save useful notes and photos in one place and label them by subject and topic. See how to share notes well and our exam revision plan.
